Is there manga based on Alice in Wonderland? - Answers (2024)

I have heard of one. Its called Alice in Sexland. The name tells you what to expect.

Heart no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of Hearts is about Alice that gets kidnapped by the White Rabbit and ends up in a Wonderland filled with weapons and boys. The only other female is the Queen of Hearts. Everyone in Wonderland is at war with each other, which is why there are so much weapons.

The girly but bloody otome game re-imagining of Lewis Carroll's classic fantasy novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with bishounen characters and added romance.

A parody of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland where Alice is smart and non-doormatlike.

In this story, Alice is not all what she seems. She is practical, strong, yet darkly cynical. Instead of the traditional story, Alice is kidnapped unwillingly by a mysterious (yet somewhat bishie-looking) man with bunny ears, and taken to a place called Heartland. Stuck in Heartland due to a trick by the mysterious rabbit-eared man, she meets the residents of this world. Along the way, Alice meets Julius, the repairer of the clocks; Blood, the handsome mafia leader; Ace, the psycho yet charming knight; Boris, the energetic cat of the amusem*nt park; Vivaldi, the Queen of Hearts. While being in this strange world, she wonders how to get out of there and return to the original world - where her sister says there's answer to come back. With grief, she endures through the happenings at Heartland. As she re-thinks the answer, it all started by the place where Alice and her sister started playing a game of cards. Will that have a clue to the mysterious answer?

It was originally an otome game (the first one in a series by Quinrose called ~Wonderful Wonder World~), but Soumei Hoshino made a manga based on it.

The game series is called ~Wonderful Wonder World~.

There are three games and a remake and there's a fourth game scheduled.

Heart no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of Hearts is the first game, which introduces everyone, except for some people, who live elsewhere..

Clover no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of Clover is the second game, which introduces Pierce Villers who embodies the Dormouse and Gray Ringmarc who embodies the Lizzard. In Clover no Kuni everyone, except for Julius Monrey (the clockmaker) and Gowland (the amusem*nt park owner), moves to the Country of Clover.

Joker no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of Joker is the third game, which has everyone and introduces the Jokers.

Anniversary no Kuni Alice/Alice in the Country of Anniversary is a remake of Heart.

There's a fourth game sheduled, Omochabako no Kuni no Alice/Alice in the Country of the Toybox, which is a fan disk.

The manga'll get a sequel called Joker no Kuni no Alice ~The Circus and the Lying Game~.

Since the original games are otome games, a dating sim for girls, it's a reverse harem.

There will be an anime-film of Alice in The Country of Hearts. It doesn't has Gray Ringmarc or Pierce Villers in it, but it does feature the Jokers.

Another one is Pandora Hearts, which is about Oz.

Oz Bezarius, heir to one of the duke houses, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he's cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "chain" known as Alice, the "Bloodstained Black Rabbit" also known as "B-Rabbit". It's unknown why was he cast into the Abyss, how does Alice factor into it all, and what does the organization known as "Pandora" want with him?

It's a bit dark, but the story leaves you wanting for more.

I recommend the manga over the anime, since the anime leaves you with so many questions.

You have to search a bit for this one, because it's licensed. I do know that Mangareader.net has it.

It's made by Mochizuki Jun.

Heart no Kuni de Ochakai/Tea Party in the Country of Hearts is about a girl that really wants to make friends, but can't. So she somehow ends up in Wonderland, where she learns to be friendlier.

Minami does not get along with her fellow classmates. She is rich and full of pride, yet lonely with no friends. Her luck changes when the "rude and idiotic" Tomachi starts hanging around with her. One day, she sees a book and tells Tomachi, "Wonderland... wouldn't it be wonderful if we went?" Tomachi's answer and reaction surprises her as both go on a crazy journey... meeting all sorts of people and walking cards... Follow their journey down the rabbit hole

It only has three chapters, but it's cute.

You have to search a bit for this one since, not every manga site has it. I do know that Mangareader.net has it.

It's made by Furumiya Kazuko.

Rozen Maiden is about dolls who fight against each other, they say they're playing the Alice-Game, in order to become Alice, who is the most perfect girl ever. Even though it's about dolls, it's not exactly for kids.

From Tokyopop:

After a traumatic incident, Jun Sakurada refuses to interact with the outside world and return to school--he even shuts out his sister, his closest friend. Jun spends most of his time online buying spiritual items that are obvious rip-offs. One day he finds a website that curiously enough asks him to put his order in his desk drawer. Thinking it's a joke, Jun plays along. The following day a suitcase arrives containing a doll named Shinku... that comes to life before his very eyes! Welcome to the world of Rozen Maiden, where Jun must enter an all-new reality to protect and serve a living doll...

In its continuation, the story starts with an older Jun, who is now a university student. While working at a bookstore as his part time job, he finds an unaddressed copy of the first issue of a weekly magazine "How to Make a Girl" containing a spring. He brings it home, and soon starts receiving further issues of the magazine by post, each issue having one part of a doll's body as a gift. One day, after putting much effort into assembling the fifth Rozen Maiden doll Shinku, he receives a notification that the publication has been cancelled, leaving him with an incomplete doll. Suddenly, he receives a mysterious text message from his old number, claiming to be the Jun Sakurada asking for help against the seventh Rozen Maiden doll Kirakishou...

The continuation is called Rozen Maiden Tales.

It also has an anime, which has two seasons, Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden Traumend, and an OVA, Rozen Maiden Ouverture.

It's made by Peach-Pitt.

Shugo Chara! is about a girl who pretends she's different than she really is.

The heroine of the story, Amu Hinamori, is a student at Seiyo Elementary. At first glance, her classmates refer to her as "cool and spicy" and rumors speculate about her personal life. However, her real personality is that of a very shy girl who has trouble showing her true personality. One night, Amu wishes for the courage to show her "would-be" self, and the next morning finds three brightly colored eggs-red, blue, and green-in her bed. At first, she is alarmed, but realizes she must have really wished to change. These eggs hatch into three Guardian Characters: Ran, Miki, and Su. The Guardian Characters aid Amu in discovering who she truly is and help fulfill Amu's dreams. Amu's life becomes much more complex as she struggles to deal with her "would-be" selves and the Seiyo Elementary's Guardians, who recruit Amu as the Joker to search for X Eggs and X Characters, the corrupted forms of peoples' dreams.

Meanwhile, the Easter Company is extracting people's eggs in search of a special egg called the Embryo. The Embryo is believed to grant any wish to the one who possesses it. However, the process creates X Eggs and X Characters.

Continues on "Shugo Chara! Encore!" and there's also an omake-series called "Shugo Chara!-chan Kids".

There's also an anime which has three seasons, Shugo Chara!, Shugo Chara! Doki and Shugo Chara Party!

Just like Rozen Maiden, it's made by Peach-Pitt.
